La flotta veneziana è sicuramente una delle più longeve e variegate del mondo, prodotta da una popolazione anfibia che, vivendo sull’acqua e dipendendo dall’acqua per ogni sua necessità, ha dovuto ingegnarsi per sviluppare soluzioni specifiche ad ogni singolo compito.

Lo scopo di questo sito è illustrare le caratteristiche tecniche di queste imbarcazioni e il lavoro che svolgiamo, per lo studio, la conservazione e la ricostruzione di questo importante patrimonio culturale.

The Venetian fleet is without doubt one of the oldest and most varied in the world: its boats and ships produced by an amphibious people who, living on the water and depending on the water for every necessity, had to devise specific solutions for every single task.

The purpose of this site is to illustrate the technical characteristics of these vessels and the work we carry out for the research and reconstruction of this important aspect of the cultural heritage of Venice
